Seeking Candidates for Board of Directors
CAHF is a new charitable organization in the start-up phase of operations. Our mandate comes from the successful RESOLVE Capital Campaign (2012 – 2018) that raised $75M for 22 affordable housing projects that were built by 9 housing agencies in Calgary. Although this helped to create spaces for over 2000 people, there remains a huge deficit in affordable housing in Calgary.
To assist affordable housing agencies with securing philanthropic capital dollars for building projects, which will supplement funding from various orders of government, CAHF is an umbrella organization that links community donors with projects.
If you want to contribute to impacting the housing crisis in Calgary, and apply or gain board experience, we invite you to consider joining the CAHF Board. We are in the process of hiring our initial staff and we expect to be actively engaged with raising funds for new capital projects prior to year end.
As CAHF is just getting going, there will be great opportunities to contribute to and influence the organization and the board. We currently have 7 directors and 3 standing committees of the board. Due to our phase of development, the board is currently more operational-focused to support building up our capacity. The long-term plan is to ramp up operations to support annual donations of $10M per year that should support building over 300 units per year.
CAHF is seeking both experienced and aspiring Directors who have an interest in addressing affordable housing in Calgary to serve on the Board of Directors. We have a particular interest in individuals with expertise in the following areas: finance, law, real estate development, construction, and government relations.
