Seeking Volunteer Board of Directors
Run Calgary is seeking individuals to join our volunteer Board of Directors. Run Calgary events, including the Calgary Marathon race weekend, bring more than 25,000 participants together annually. Collectively, our events raise nearly $1 million dollars annually for local charities and contribute to the health and vibrancy of our communities. Join us in our mission to enrich lives and foster community through exceptional fitness experiences.
Guided by our values of community, innovation, safety, integrity, social responsibility and achievement, Run Calgary is a professional race organization with a full time staff dedicated to event management. A member of Athletics Canada, Canadian Endurance Sports Alliance and Running USA, Run Calgary works with the best in the business to deliver top quality race experiences.
We are seeking Board Members who are passionate about our community and providing exceptional race experiences in Calgary. For 2025, we are looking for individuals who have skills or background in one or more of the following areas:
- Accounting and finance
- Governance (not-for-profit)
- Sponsorship procurement and management
- Public Relations
- Adaptive Athletics
- Commercial Real Estate
And who:
- Have previous Board of Directors experience
- Are excited about community leadership
- Are prepared to contribute to discussions and decisions shaping the future of the organization
- Are prepared to participate in monthly meetings, including serving on a minimum of one committee
- Are willing to serve a minimum of at least one 3-year term
