SHE SESSION - Lean In Canada Calgary

December 9, 2020

Work-life balance? More like work-life survival.

It’s no shock 2020 has flipped all of our worlds upside down and around again and again.

Covid has rocked the workplace and, in some ways, created forever-changes to the way we work. Women have been especially affected. Either by choice, feeling pressed to “downshift” because of the “third shift”, or being on the receiving end of layoffs and job changes, more than one in four women are considering taking a big step back.

We are eight months into this pandemic, and we are all still in survival mode. According to the McKinsey Women in the Workplace study, 18 per cent of mothers are considering leaving the workplace, including 23 per cent of women with children under 10.

Join Lean In | Calgary for a virtual fireside chat with Brandy Payne, Workplace Mental Health Consultant and former Associate Minister of Health, Emma May, local business leader and former lawyer, and Bonnie Shepherd, former chief development officer of the Equality Fund. This virtual event will give you a chance to:

  • Hear from peers with shared experiences;
  • Identify strategies and resources we can all use to weather the storm; and
  • Lean on each other and find a new source of strength as we head into a holiday season unlike any we’ve experienced before.

Join us from the comfort of your home from 6:30 – 8 p.m. on December 9 for our free event.
