Chairing the Board: Balancing Vision, Strategy and Culture
Boards function best when vision, strategy, and collaboration are aligned – and when diverse perspectives are brought to the table. Chairs play a critical role in setting that tone. This session explores how Chairs, in partnership with their Boards and CEOs, foster engagement and trust while shaping environments that attract and retain diverse talent. Our speakers will share valuable insights – from preparing for the Chair role and cultivating a positive Board culture to succession planning.

2025 Axis Connects Leadership Forum
The Axis Connects Leadership Forum will be a highly engaging and interactive one-day summit focused on building community and offering professional development to professionals at mid-to-senior career stages. Attendees can expect high caliber speakers, compelling discussions with some of Canada’s top executive leaders and an end of day networking reception.

We are building a strong network through:
Connecting BRW network with other useful resources.
Compiling a database of “Board Experienced” women who are available to connect and mentor “Board Ready” women.
Developing a database of women who have self-identified as “Board Ready” including basic skillsets, prior Board experience, areas of interest and contact information.
Creating a repository of Board opportunities, communications, tools and techniques to assist in the purpose.
Organizing quarterly events to share ideas and progress as well as providing networking opportunities with other “Board Ready” and “Board Experienced” women and male counterparts to promote awareness and socialization of the issue of gender diversity on Boards.
