Mustering the Nerve to Lead: An intimate discussion with Martha Piper and Indira Samarasekera

We heard it from the two pioneering women who embraced leadership opportunities with grit and grace and lessons learned along the way. As the first female presidents of two of Canada’s largest and most respected research universities and directors of some of the nation’s largest market cap companies, Martha and Indira offered candid and insightful perspectives on the dilemmas and opportunities women confront in leadership and how these learnings prepared them to maximize their impact on Boards.

Heather Culbert – Director Whitecap Resources Inc.

We partnered with the Federal government on the 50 - 30 Challenge initiative.

This challenge is rooted in two aspirations over time – Gender Parity (“50%”) and Significant Representation (“30%”) of other under-represented groups (racialized persons, Indigenous peoples, persons with disabilities and members of the LGBTQ2 community) on Canadian Board(s) and senior management while recognizing the unique needs of various sectors and organization types as well as offering a range of supports for the specific needs of small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
