The successful candidate will have a solid commitment to enhancing and supporting the professional practice of geoscience and, ideally, a strong understanding of artificial intelligence (AI) tools and technology. The committee meets monthly to review, consider, and provide guidance on matters of geoscience professional practice, and to review, document and develop geoscience professional practice considerations for potential use by geoscience regulators and practitioners, as well as other stakeholders.

The Impact | |
The rise of AI tools, such as ChatGPT and generative products, are changing nearly every profession at an unprecedented rate. These tools are growing in capability and utility daily. How they will ultimately affect the practice of geoscience is still unknown. By serving as a member of the Professional Practice Committee with Geoscientists Canada, you will have an opportunity to review and develop professional practice guidance documents.
